Gida Probaseball

Sampo maintains that a corporation has an ethical obligation to contribute to the society which has supported it. Sampo's founder was a fervent supporter of physical fitness and sport, especially baseball as he felt it embodies the spirit of teamwork.

Photo Baseball is the heart of our athletic program. Through support of the program, we hope to make baseball a more popular sport and promote athletics in general as well. Additionally, we hope our involvement in baseball will help to inject the positive values of "health, vitality, and exuberance."

SAMPO Gida Probaseball Team is established in 1997 and the name 'Gida' stands for 'Sun' in Taiwan's Native language.

The founding of the SAMPO Gida in 1997. We have also established baseball scholarships to encourage young players to improve their studies. SAMPO holds a training camp each summer to stimulate interest in baseball and help young people improve their playing skills.Gida

Community Service Work

Sampo's commitment to community welfare can be traced back to our founder M.P.Chen's conviction that a company should "give something back to the society in which it has prospered", believing that a healthy society is prerequisite to sustained corporate growth.

To carry on our founder's vision, the SAMPO Cultural and Education Fund was established in 1970 with Lien Chen-tung as its first chairman. Under his leadership, the Fund steadily expanded the scope of its services. The Fund has been under the direction of Felix S.T.Chen from 1987 until the present, working in conjunction with government policy. Its goals are to encourage the development of culture and education in the society at large.

The SAMPO Culture and Education Fund has supported the following major activities and others:

  1. SAMPO Scholarship Fund
The Fund supports scholars at every level from junior high school through graduate school and has awarded more than NT$37 million in scholarship money.
